II - Sculpting the Performer

What’s it all about, anyway?

Join Kristina Tonteri-Young and actor/coach Tatu Sinisalo for a group acting workshop in Helsinki, Finland! In this in-person intensive, you'll work alongside fellow actors in a supportive, collaborative environment—exploring scene work, character development, and acting technique. It's the perfect chance to challenge yourself, grow your craft or start a completely new journey, and connect with a creative community. No previous acting experience necessary!

Courses will be bilingual Finnish and English.

    Day 1

    Day 1: Foundations & First Connections
    We’ll kick things off by getting to know each other and building a supportive, creative space. The day will focus on core acting techniques—breath, presence, and truthful connection—before diving into some light scene work. It’s all about warming up, finding your feet, and starting the journey together.

    Day 2

    Day 2: Screen vs. Stage & Deepening the Work
    On Day 2, we’ll explore the differences between film and theatre acting—how to adjust your performance for the camera versus the stage. We’ll dive into presence work, connecting with your scene partner, and begin a deeper look at text and scene study. Expect to sharpen your instincts, tune into the moment, and build on everything we started in Day 1

Meet the Team

  • Actor & Coach

    Kristina Tonteri-Young is a professionally trained actor who studied at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, graduating in 2019. Her training at Guildhall focused on classical and contemporary performance, voice, movement, and screen acting. She also studied with renowned voice coach Patsy Rodenburg at Michael Howard Studios in New York, where she deepened her understanding of breath, presence, and text.

    Kristina’s screen credits include The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde (dir. Kenneth Branagh), Love Is the Monster (dir. Alex Noyer), Warrior Nun (Netflix), Outside the Wire (Netflix), among others. With a foundation in both acting and classical ballet, she brings a rich blend of emotional depth, physicality, and precision to her work on screen and stage.

  • Actor & Coach

    Tatu was most recently seen in Jalmari Helander’s critically acclaimed feature SISU, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2022. The film was released worldwide by Sony and Lionsgate in 2023.

    Coming up, Tatu is one of the stars in the upcoming indie feature LOVE IS THE MONSTER, directed by Alex Noyer, alongside Leonardo Nam and Madeline Zima. The film is currently in post-production and set to premiere in 2025.

    In his native Finland, Tatu is widely known for his leading performances in the musical biopics KING OF HEARTS (Olen Suomalainen) and BORN IN HEINOLA (Teit meistä kauniin).

    His additional credits include prominent roles in several acclaimed series, such as:

    Tatu has also starred in two films awarded the Jussi Audience Award.
