Who am I?
Kristina Tonteri-Young is a Finnish-Chinese actress and former dancer. Born in Finland, she moved to New York City at age six . Her early training at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow included performances at the Bolshoi Theatre and the Kremlin Ballet.
Transitioning to acting at 16, Tonteri-Young studied at The Acting Studio and Michael Howard Studios in NYC, and later at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, graduating in 2019 . Her screen credits include roles in Warrior Nun, Seasons 1-2 (2020-2022, Netflix), Outside the Wire (2021, Netflix), Love is the Monster (2024) and the upcoming Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde, written and directed by Sir. Kenneth Branagh.
Currently based in London, UK, she maintains a truly international lifestyle, regularly traveling between Europe and the United States for both work and pleasure. This cross-continental presence has become second nature, allowing her to stay connected with a wide network of collaborators and communities around the globe.
She has also recently set out to write screenplays for shorts and feature films!
She speaks Finnish, English, French and Russian, and brings a rich linguistic versatility to her work. Beyond just speaking these languages, she has a finely tuned ear for accents—an asset that often surprises people and comes in handy in both professional and social settings.
Outside of work, her world is filled with creativity and movement. She’s an avid surfer, always on the lookout for her next wave; a passionate seamstress, often immersed in sewing projects that blend style with storytelling; and a dedicated social dancer, thriving on the rhythm and connection of dance floors around the world. And of course, no perfect day is complete without sushi. Enough said.
